I haven’t painted for almost 2 years.

And I wasn’t much present in your emails with painting specifically. Why?

Because I was feeling like a fake artist.

I was told I better be off making real money than waiting for my creative business to come around.

So I did. And 2 years flew by.

Not only is my creative business now sitting in a dark corner all alone, but I have had no inspiration and an ever-growing fear that I can’t even draw or paint or create anything anymore.

My best friend saw all of that. My tears. My regret.

I was dubious tbh. I see Elizabeth Gilbert as a bit of an Eat Pray Love phenomenon, and I can’t say I am a fan.

But I love reading, and I knew for a fact my friend would never recommend a shitty book.

Do I need to tell you I inhaled this book? Because I did!!!

And what came out of it?

Yesterday was one of the busiest days I’ve had. I literally had no time to sit down and eat properly.

But I signed up for a crafternoon with strangers and dragged myself there, carrying my new set of acrylic ink markers.

And honestly, that feels like a pretty big deal to me.

So if you are, too, struggling with inspiration, permission to create, or fear of failure, this book should be on your night table. Period.

Maybe you don’t need another tutorial.

Maybe you don’t need a better supply.

Maybe you don’t need to wait until you feel like a “real” artist.

Maybe you just need someone to remind you that you’re allowed to make things.
